Girlfriend Material - DEMO VERSION

Girlfriend Material is the story of Lavinia von Adeline, an eccentric and socially anxious inventor who decides to rescue her love-life by building herself a robot girlfriend.

We follow Lavinia through her days and nights as she tries to balance life and work, spending her nights in the laboratory with her experiments, and her days trying to appear as normal as possible. Along the way we meet some of her friends and neighbors, friendly or obstructive. Success will allow Lavinia to create the girlfriend of her dreams, but first she needs to figure out what it is that she actually wants from her.

On her side is her own formidable intelligence, a loyal hardware store employee, and a very friendly barista at her favorite coffee shop. Opposing her are her nosy next-door neighbor, her overbearing mother, and an ex-girlfriend whom she never quite got over.

well this game have a potential. the whole idea of plot is nice. but you could show it better. and artstyle needs more than a few improvements. and don't forget about adding music and sounds

Sorry, it's hard to play a game about selfish one-sided chick that wants to make a chat-bot her ideal love. As a fan of AI I was dissapointed right from the start. Even in Stardew Valley it was a comedic cliche sub-plot and creator wanted to make a bot that helps people, not just "loves" an owner. That robot flew away because no conscious creature deserves to be a slave.

Just played through the demo! I love your art and this is a very promising concept! I liked the interactions Lavinia has with her mother. I just have a few nitpicks. The thing with the cookies and the neighbor happened very suddenly, and it took me a while to realize that time had passed because the background didn't change. Also, the word "invention" is misspelled in the Lavinia-Mother conversation. And at the end, it says she begins to work at home without the hardware store background changing. Really looking forward to more of this!
